File attributes defined
1) Open Windows Explorer:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs' and select 'Windows Explorer'.
2) Select the file to be renamed:
a) Double-click the folder containing the file from the 'All Folders' list box.
b) Select the file from the 'Contents of <path>' list box, where <path> indicates the drive and folder where the file is stored.
3) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Properties...'. (The 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) All file attributes that can be assigned to the file appear as check boxes in the dialog box.
NOTE: The following are the attributes available file attributes:
Read Only: The file may be read, but not edited or deleted.
Hidden: The file does not appear in a directory listing (unless the 'Show Hidden/System Files' check box has been selected).
System: The file is a Windows 95 system file and is not displayed in a directory listing (unless the 'Show Hidden/System Files' check box has been selected).
Archive: The file has been modified since the last time it was backed up to disk.
